DHR INTERNATIONAL PLACES PRESIDENT, MEASURING TOOLS AT ROBERT BOSCH, LLC
WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA, September 2009 – Global executive search firm DHR International is pleased to announce the placement of Kent Owens as President, Measuring Tools at Robert Bosch, LLC. Frank Smeekes, Managing Director Europe led this search assisted by Marion Clune, Principal.
Mr. Owens joins Robert Bosch Tool Corporation from Acuity Brands, a two billion dollar publicly traded lighting manufacturer where he served as Senior Vice President, Marketing. He was responsible for increasing sales by almost 20% in target commercial sectors through a new vertical marketing approach. He was promoted to this position after serving as General Manager for the Consumer Products Group of Lithonia Lighting, a $250 million residential division of Acuity Brands. Prior to Acuity Brands, Mr. Owens served as a Manager at The Boston Consulting Group.
As President, Measuring Tools, Mr. Owens will be globally responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the measuring tools business unit of Robert Bosch Measuring Tools. This includes primary responsibility for measuring tools innovation, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, sales, customer support and logistics. Mr. Owens will report directly to the Chairman, President and CEO of the Power Tools Division Americas and he will manage the integration of a recently acquired division of Stanley Works into the measuring tools business. .
The assignment is an exciting win for Frank Smeekes and DHR International as President positions at Robert Bosch, LLC have been traditionally reserved for internal promotions and the use of search firms for functional positions.
