DHR INTERNATIONAL NAMES NEW MD OF CANADA AND ADDS CONSULTANTS FROM BOYDEN TO THEIR TORONTO TEAM
TORONTO, January 2010 – DHR is pleased to announce that Alan Small has been named the Managing Director of Canada. Alan has over 17 years of executive search experience and has been DHR’s leading revenue producer in Canada. In this role Alan will oversee the firm’s growth throughout the country in addition to his client development responsibilities. In conjunction with this leadership change, the firm has expanded its Canadian presence in Toronto through the lift out of a team from Boyden Toronto. Six former Boyden employees will join DHR’s Toronto team: Gary Huggins, will serve as Managing Director of Toronto; Rod Malcolm joins as Executive Vice President and Consumer Practice Group Leader; Sussannah Kelly as Executive Vice President; Beverleigh Aquilanti as Executive Vice President; Nancy Rizzardo as Office Administrator; and Olivia Thomas as Office Administrator. The former Boyden partners will join DHR Toronto consultants Alan Small, Bob Armstrong, David Sciuk and Colin Walker in addition to Office Manager Jennifer Pacheco.

Mr. Huggins was previously a Managing Director of the Toronto office of Boyden Global Executive Search. Prior to that he was a Managing Director in Korn/Ferry International’s Toronto office and head of their Advanced Technology practice for Canada. Before Korn/Ferry, Mr. Huggins was Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nuvo Network Management Inc., a publicly traded company focused on delivering telecommunications network operations solutions to companies. He specializes in senior-level searches for Advanced Technology, Board/CEO, Industrial and Venture Capital and Private Equity companies.
Mr. Malcolm was a Managing Director in the Toronto office of Boyden Global Executive Search. Previously, he had been the Managing Partner of the Canadian Consumer and Retail Practice at Korn/Ferry International. He also has over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and general management positions with major international corporations combined with his broad executive search experience. In addition to his extensive experience working with consumer goods and services, retail and hospitality companies, Mr. Malcolm’s global search experience practice also includes a broad range of industries including industrial, real estate and private equity firms.
Ms. Kelly was Managing Director at Boyden Global Executive Search and a co-owner of the Toronto, Central and Eastern Canada practice. She brings over 20 years of experience as a senior leader. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President of Human Resources with MDS Proteomics. She has held similar roles with Merisel (U.S. and Canada), NCR Canada, Rogers Communications, Amdahl, Bank of Montreal, Lloyd’s Bank, Transamerica, Johnson & Johnson (Ortho Pharmaceutical), etc.
Ms. Aquilanti was Principal at Boyden Global Executive Search where she specialized in senior executive and middle management search assignments in the following industries: real estate, consumer products, retail, and financial services. Ms. Aquilanti entered the executive search industry with the early Canadian search pioneers at Hickling - Johnston Ltd. She has also worked at Herman Smith Executive Search, Aquinox Consulting, and was an integral member of the team that founded Smith, Caldwell Inc.
