Frank Spencer is managing partner of the firm’s New York office and is president of the Retail/Consumer Practice. Frank joined DHR in March of 1997 as executive vice president to lead its expansion into the New York market. In 2002 he was formally asked to lead the Retail/Consumer Practice Group and today the practice ranks as one of the top revenue producing groups within DHR. Prior to joining DHR Frank worked nine years as an executive search consultant with a large New York-based boutique search firm, specializing in retail, consumer products, and entertainment searches. He began his career with The Gap functioning in various human resource and operational positions over a 10 year period.
Frank’s clients represent a broad spectrum of retail, wholesale, consumer products, and educational organizations ranging from Fortune 100 companies to venture backed start-ups. He has successfully completed assignments for all C-level positions as well as functional heads of finance, marketing, product design, human resources, supply chain, real estate, corporate and field operations, and technology.
Maintaining long-term relationships with his clients and executive placements through honest dialogue, uncompromising integrity, and exceptional customer service are the keys to Frank’s success. The Walt Disney Company has been a client for 18 years with the completion of well over 200 searches. In addition to Disney, Frank has partnered with numerous domestic and international brands including Bevmo, Gap Inc., Lands' End, Liz Claiborne, Nike, Sephora, Ulta and Under Armour.
Frank has played an active role on several boards along with working with several local non-profit organizations. He has also been a guest speaker on radio and for major private universities. He has consulted for local businesses, assisting in the development of organizational structures for small to mid-sized companies.
A graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in Marketing, Frank was a member of the University’s Division I basketball team. He is an avid tennis player and has coached local basketball teams. He resides on Long Island with his wife, Fran, and daughter, Jenna. < Read less
