Suchet Narain serves as Managing Director for the firm’s India office, and brings over two decades of post qualification experience with him. Mr. Narain has worked extensively with clients across different sectors to assist them in developing their talent management strategies, consistent with their business vision and objectives. He has advised clients across a broad range of industries, including Automotive, Supply Chain, Chemicals and Process Engineering, Capital and Electrical Equipment, and Building and Construction Materials, and has had the opportunity to identify & place senior level executives in leadership positions as Business heads , as well as functional specialists.
Prior to joining DHR, Mr. Narain led Korn/Ferry International’s foray into south India based out of Bangalore, where he took up the responsibility to set up the company’s operations, and built a strong presence for the brand in the marketplace, across all product lines and practices . As a key member of the Industrial practice, he contributed immensely to the growth of the business , while partnering with clients and consultants across the Asia Pacific region. He successfully supported several clients in assessing their human capital strategies, even as they were making the transition through a rapidly changing global business environment.
Before moving to a career in Consulting, Mr. Narain was the Business Manager for the MYTEX joint venture of Exxon Mobil in India. MYTEX is a leading solutions provider to the Automotive industry for ‘engineered polymeric’ materials. Here, he had the responsibility for building a sustainable & profitable operation, managing Global OEM relationships , and developing regional growth strategies (as a member of the Asia Pacific Business Team). Earlier, Mr. Narain joined Exxon Mobil Chemical in 1995 in the ‘Intermediates’ business, where he developed & implemented the Strategic Business Plan for India and played a key role in the translation of best practices in the area of Product Representation & Quality management.
Mr. Narain started his career with RPG Enterprises, one of India’s largest business group as a Management Trainee in 1989. At RPG, he took on positions of increasing responsibility and in his last assignment, he was responsible for National sales and business development activities, for the Cetex petrochemicals business, based out of Chennai.
Mr. Narain holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and MBA in Marketing & Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (1989). < Read less
