Ted Plattenburg is an Executive Vice President with DHR International and serves as an integral member of the healthcare and nonprofit practice group. Prior to joining DHR International, Mr. Plattenburg served as a Principal with a regional boutique firm where he led the development of the nonprofit search practice which included hospitals and healthcare systems. For 15 years, he has led many senior level searches for hospitals, health systems and non-profit organizations in the Midwest.
Mr. Plattenburg’s search experience spans healthcare, the social service sector, cultural institutions and the public sector. He has worked with hospitals and healthcare institutions in finding and retaining key talent His extensive work with leadership teams of Children’s Hospitals has given him a deep understanding of the unique challenges facing pediatric institutions today. Mr. Plattenburg has worked under the strict requirements of open records laws completing several searches for City Managers, Township Administrators and Executive Directors of federally funded multi-jurisdictional organizations. Additionally, Mr. Plattenburg has worked on key positions spawned from a one of kind Collaborative Agreement requiring outstanding credentials in diversity search work. His clients have come to appreciate his personable style and candid, thoughtful counsel.
Mr. Plattenburg is a member of Cincinnatus and advises many community boards on board member recruitment, compensation, recruiting and the retaining of key personnel. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Wittenberg University and an advanced foreign language degree from Lund University, Lund Sweden.
Mr. Plattenburg enjoys travel, history and raising his children. His tennis accomplishments have allowed him to compete internationally. He currently coaches the high school varsity tennis team.
