Gary W. Huggins serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director in DHR’s Toronto office. He specializes in senior-level searches for Advanced Technology, Board/CEO, Industrial and Venture Capital and Private Equity companies.
His extensive career in technology related companies provides him with a solid understanding of the issues and leadership needs of his clients. His experience leading startups and managing publicly traded technology companies has proven beneficial to his client base of both established and emerging public and private companies. His attention to detail and his service oriented approach ensures that key leadership requirements are provided for in a timely manner.
Mr. Huggins was previously a Managing Director of the Toronto office of Boyden Global Executive Search. Prior to that he was a Managing Director in Korn/Ferry International’s Toronto office and head of their Advanced Technology practice for Canada. Prior to joining Korn/Ferry, Mr. Huggins was Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nuvo Network Management Inc., a publicly traded company focused on delivering telecommunications network operations solutions to companies. He previously held the position of Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for SoftKey Software Products Inc. which became The Learning Company. SoftKey was a publicly traded (TSX and NASDAQ) consumer software package distributor and one of Canada’s fastest growing companies before being sold to Mattel Toys.
Mr. Huggins received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo. He is involved in community organizations and is currently active at Kingsway Lambton United Church as Chairman of the Community Outreach Committee and a member of the Honduras Mission Committee as well as the co-leader of their annual mission to Honduras. Mr. Huggins is a member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and the Toronto Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). He is also a member of Craigleith Ski Club and Lambton Golf and Country Club. He is married with two daughters.
