Dennis Muchmore currently is an Executive Vice President of DHR International. He is a member of the Financial Services, Education, Sports, and the Non-Profit Specialty Practice Groups. Past searches include C-Level and Divisional searches in the Insurance Industry, CEO searches for Non-Profits, and numerous Government Affairs and Public Affairs leadership related positions among others.
Mr. Muchmore presently is a member of the Board of Directors of GreenStone Farm Credit Services, Physician’s Health Plan MM, Phoenix Composite Solutions, LLC, and the Michigan Livestock Expo. He serves as a Gubernatorial appointee on the state Climate Action Council and the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, where he presently is Vice-Chair.
He has previously been a member of the Board of Trustees of Oakland University, the Eastern Illinois University Foundation, two community college foundations, and the Delta Sigma Phi International Foundation. He was the Designee of the Michigan State Board of Education on the Professional Standards Commission for Teachers, and served on Boards of Directors of the Capitol Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration, the Michigan Festival, the Capital Area Humane Society, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra Committee and the Michigan State University Museum Development Committee.
Mr. Muchmore is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration, the American Society of Public Administration, the American Society of Political Consultants and is a Life Member of the NAACP, the Michigan United Conservation Clubs, the Delta Sigma Phi International Fraternity and both the Eastern Illinois University and the Michigan State University Alumni Associations.
He is the founder of Muchmore Harrington Smalley & Associates, a multi-state public affairs firm, and has held a variety of prominent positions in Michigan, including Executive Director of 40,000 member Michigan United Conservation Clubs, Vice President of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, consultant to the Michigan Senate Select Committee on Municipal Finance, and Administrative Assistant to two Senate Finance Committee Chairs.
Mr. Muchmore earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University and a Master's in Public Administration from Michigan State University. In 1998 he received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Michigan State University College of Social Science, Public Administration Program. He is a licensed pilot and is an avid fly fisherman.
