Carolyn Oakley Lowe serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director in the firm's Philadelphia office. She is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Ms. Lowe has recruited senior level executives for the past thirteen years. An industry generalist, she conducts searches for clients in the diversified professional and financial services industries, and the life science, consumer, real estate, and nonprofit industries. Ms. Lowe’s practice is focused on developing a long-term relationship and building the management and operating team for clients. The scope of her engagements has included searches for chief executive officers and senior and mid-level managers.
Ms. Lowe has conducted searches for the Associate Executive Director, American Bar Association; Chief Financial Officer, American Bar Association; Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion, NCAA; Divisional Merchandise Managers and Buyers for The May Company; Vice President of Customer Service, and Manager, E-Commerce for Britannica.com; Chief Operating Officer, Lakeshore Real Estate Development Company; Senior Vice President for Communications, Ryder System, Inc; Assistant Treasurer-International for Warner-Lambert Corporation (Pfizer); Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance, Iroko Pharmaceuticals; Vice president, Distribution, Cherokee Pharmaceuticals; Director of Emerging Markets and the Diverse Markets Manager for American Express Financial Advisors; General Counsel, Vice President of Information Technology, National Marketing Manager and real estate-related positions for Save-A-Lot, among others.
In addition to her search work, Ms. Lowe serves as the diversity thought leader at DHR, working with clients, other Consultants, and researchers to develop DHR’s data base and network of diverse professionals in all industries, establishing as a guiding DHR principle the inclusion of diverse candidates in every candidate pool DHR presents to its clients.
Ms. Lowe has a broad background in business, finance, law, and regulatory and public policy. Before joining DHR International, she was an associate with another executive search firm and a principal with a pension fund investment advisory firm. Earlier in her career, Ms. Lowe served as Executive Director and Associate General Counsel of a state tax-exempt finance agency.
Ms. Lowe received her JD at New York University and BA at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. She is also a member of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society and a former member of the North Shore Country Day School Board of Directors. Ms. Lowe currently serves on the Philadelphia Board of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship and is a member of the Minority Angel Investment Network.
Ms. Lowe and her family reside in Philadelphia after living in Chicago for 17 years prior to relocating in 2004 to manage the DHR Philadelphia office.
