Sue Rossiter is Managing Director and European Practice Lead for DHR International’s Global Life Sciences practice.  

Sue has more than twenty years’ experience in life sciences executive search, working with clients around the world to appoint and develop their key leaders.  She has particular expertise in C-suite, board and senior leadership appointments for clients in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology, medical devices, consumer healthcare, and NGO sectors as well as with services and solutions providers to the life sciences industry. 

As a life sciences industry specialist Sue has successfully managed over 400 assignments across all functional areas of the life sciences industry, including for Board level, C-suite, VP and Director level appointments in a wide range of General Management, Commercial, R&D, Operations, Scientific and Technical areas.   

Sue’s client-focused approach, together with her industry knowledge and ability to consistently deliver results, is founded on building long-term partnerships with clients, which enables her to get ‘under the skin’ of each client’s individual business, culture and needs. 

Sue was previously founder and CEO of Barrett Webb, a specialist European life sciences executive search boutique which she founded in 1990 and which grew to become a highly successful, leading specialist firm conducting high profile assignments for Global and Regional clients.  Barrett Webb was acquired by DHR in 2011 and the company’s team of specialists now forms the core of DHR’s European Life Sciences practice under Sue’s leadership.    

A business graduate, Sue studied and lived in the UK and USA before commencing her career in HR within the international chemicals industry and subsequently moving into executive recruitment.  She was a managing consultant and partner with two executive recruitment firms prior to establishing Barrett Webb. 

Sue lives in the UK and is married to Nick, and they have three sons.
