DHR has made a strategic commitment to serving the unique needs of both the Venture Capital and Private Equity (VCPE) industries on a global basis. The practice focuses on both the internal investment and administrative hiring needs of it clients -- associates, principals, operating partners, investment partners, and so forth -- as well as their portfolio companies across Board, C and VP level executive roles.
The VCPE practice consists of professionals who have direct experience working with VC and PE investors in both tech and non-tech environments. Consultants within the practice are well-versed in the unique needs of everything from early stage venture-funded internet companies to management buyouts in more traditional non-tech industries. Our team members come from tech and non-tech industry operating positions, related consulting and professional service organizations across industry sectors, as well as leading retained executive search firms. The practice also draws on industry domain specialists in all sectors where required to ensure a successful executive search.
For Venture Capital and technology buyout clients, which tend to focus on seed capital through buyout technology-related investment opportunities, the VCPE practice works closely with DHR’s Advanced Technology, Media & Entertainment, and Life Sciences practices and more and more interfaces with DHR professionals fluent in traditional energy fuels and technologies (for clean tech opportunities) as well as specialized retail / consumer operations (for ecommerce / digital media companies). For Private Equity firms which specialize in low-tech or non-tech buyout opportunities, the VCPE practice tends to interface more often with traditional practice areas such as Healthcare, Industrial, Retail, Financial Services, Energy, and Professional / Business Services.
