Oct 26, 2020
CHICAGO (October 26, 2020) – Global executive search firm DHR International is pleased to announce Brandy Russell has joined the firm as Partner in the Legal practice group. She is based in the Chicago office.
With more than 15 years of legal and search experience, Russell helps clients find the talent required to grow their legal teams. As a former commercial litigator, she has a deep legal network and understands the unique needs of clients and leaders in the space. Russell’s clients appreciate her consultative approach and strong relationship skills, which set the stage to identify solutions, find the right talent and create a successful hiring outcome.
Today’s corporate leadership expects General Counsels, and the internal legal departments they lead, to be business partners that actively participate in the development and implementation of business strategies, not just attorneys who evaluate and mitigate risk. The most efficient and valued legal departments are wholly integrated into the company’s culture and embedded with the business side. Russell’s executive search practice is devoted to helping companies build out internal legal and compliance departments that achieve this level of efficiency.
“As a search consultant, I am driven to find better ways to serve my clients,” said Russell. “I am thrilled to add my functional expertise in legal and compliance to the breadth of industry and functional expertise already offered by DHR. The suite of services offered by the DHR family of companies, as well as the collaborative culture among the partners, enables us to leverage insights about our clients’ business needs and culture in order to provide end-to-end talent solutions across all levels of those organizations.”
Before joining DHR, Russell was a Managing Director in the In-House Practice Group at a Major, Lindsey & Africa. In 2005, she began her legal career in the New York offices of Anderson, Kill & Olick, P.C., McKee Nelson, LLP, and Bingham McCutchen, LLP. Russell’s practice focused on securities-related litigation, defending international banks and hedge fund clients against allegations of securities fraud, breach of contract and other business torts.
Russell holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, as well as a M.A. in Comparative Literature and B.A. in Comparative Literature and Creative Writing from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
