Healthcare is among the most rapidly growing employment fields, according to analysts at Hunt Scanlon Media, which tracks trends in the executive search and leadership solutions space. So it is that the need for recruiting firms to deliver top-drawer leaders throughout the sector has only grown.
Chicago-based DHR International has placed healthcare veteran Ajay Gupta as the new CEO of Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN) in Carlsbad, CA. Vice chairman Martin M. Pocs led the assignment along with Jayme Willie, director of strategic accounts.
Mr. Gupta has over 20 years of comprehensive healthcare experience in identifying and exploring business development opportunities, financial operations, accounting, management consulting and national health policy. Previously, he was CEO of Gupta Capital Partners, which served as an advisor for private equity healthcare services investments. Before that, he served as chief operating officer of Envision Healthcare, a publicly traded company and provider of clinical services across the healthcare continuum with 15,000 physicians.
Prior to this, Mr. Gupta was COO and CFO of Integrated Oncology Network in Corona del Mar, CA. Earlier in his career he held stints as senior advisor to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, division CFO at HCA Healthcare and senior consultant at Arthur Andersen.
Physical Rehabilitation Network was founded in 1991 to assist physical therapists in developing and operating their own practice without carrying the burden of business administration and back-office functions. The organization is the most prominent network of independently operated physical and hand rehabilitation centers in the western United States. After starting out in Southern California with one practice, PRN currently serves over 120 centers in nine states.
Since 1989, DHR International has been a leading, privately held provider of executive search solutions with more than 50 wholly-owned offices spanning the globe. DHR’s consultants specialize in all industries and functions, providing senior-level executive search, management assessment and succession planning services tailored to the qualities and specifications of its client base.
Mr. Pocs is managing director of the firm’s Denver office. As one of the three top producers in the history of the firm, he has made significant contributions in shaping the success of DHR. His search practice includes diverse industries such as telecommunications, manufacturing, financial services, real estate, advanced technology, consumer products, aerospace, software, biomedical, mining, renewable energy and non-profits covering a variety of disciplines and general management positions within those industries. The practice has seen notable success in private equity backed transactions.
“Martin’s professionalism, responsiveness, tenaciousness, sense of urgency and utmost dedication to his clients are themes that distinguish his performance,” said David Hoffmann, chairman of DHR.
