After leading DHR’s Global Retail Practice for more than 15 years, Frank Spencer was promoted to Vice Chairman with the specific responsibility of assisting DHR’s Talent Acquisition team in attracting high-level partner talent.
Frank was inducted into the DHR Hall of Fame in 2017 in recognition of his leadership, positive contribution to our culture, and being one of the top three revenue producers in the history of the firm. He was also an equity partner in the company for over 10 years.
Frank joined DHR in March of 1997 to lead its expansion into the New York market. In 2002, he began leading the global Retail Practice Group, which today ranks as one of the top revenue-producing practices at DHR. Prior to joining DHR, Frank worked as an executive search consultant with a large New York-based boutique search firm, specializing in retail, consumer products and entertainment searches. He began his career with Gap Inc. functioning in various human resource and operational positions over a 10-year period.
Maintaining long-term relationships with his clients and executive placements through honest dialogue, uncompromising integrity and exceptional customer service are the keys to Frank’s success. The Walt Disney Company was a client for more than 20 years with the completion of well over 200 searches. In addition to Disney, Frank partnered with numerous domestic and international brands including A.C. Moore, Century 21 Department Stores, The Children’s Place, Columbia Sportswear, Crocs, Inc., Edible Arrangements, Forever 21, Follett Higher Education Group, Michaels, Pandora Jewelry, Raley’s, Ralph Lauren, Ross Stores, Under Armour and Wolverine.
Frank has played an active role on several boards along with working with several local non-profit organizations. He has also been a guest speaker on radio shows and for major private universities. He has consulted for local businesses, assisting in the development of organizational structures for small to mid-sized companies.
A graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in Marketing, Frank was a member of the University’s Division I basketball team. He is an avid tennis player and has coached local basketball teams. He resides on Long Island with his wife, Fran.
